"if Only I" by Ollie is a journey through my life starting from 4 years old, at Black Foxe Military Institute, Hollywood. California. Most Substack posts end with the lessons I wish I had learned from each and every experience, especially in my formative years. My hope is that you find my stories enlightening, engaging, humourous and heartfelt. I was born and raised in Sunny Southern California and I'm sure that from my stories so far, many of you readers would consider me a spoiled brat! I certainly never felt spoiled. Privileged, to live on a cliff overlooking the ocean with a nanny, butler, cook, swimming pool, tennis court, and a private plane, yes. Spoiled, not so much! Military School from age four for three years, private day school for a year, and then a second Military school at eight. Next a private boarding school with only 9 boarders from age nine to twelve and later a public school with over 2000 students. I did indeed enjoy privileges that few children ever experience as a very young boy, I just didn't understand how privileged I was and from 10th grade it was a downward slippery slope!
